Company Profile

HCCS
Company Overview
HCCS is a full service medical coding and consulting company founded upon uncompromising values and dedicated to the clients we serve and to each other. Our services assist our clients in processing their medical records from patient discharge through the billing cycle, both accurately and promptly. Aside from offering coding related consulting services, we do not deviate from our one simple mission: provide the best coding available.
We rely on our staff of fully specialized, AHIMA certified coders to remotely provide accurate coding of all chart types to hospitals around the country. In order to maintain our high quality, we seek out the best coders from around the country. We know that the best coders are worth their weight in gold, so when we find them, we treat them as such.
We are proud of our company and the work that we do for our clients.
Company History
HCCS was established in 2006 as its founder, Bill Cronin's, second venture in the Medical Coding field. HCCS's predecessor, MedGrup, began in a Chicago basement in 1993 when Bill decided that he needed to spend more time with his family, and that starting his own business was the best way to accomplish this. Over the next ten years MedGrup evolved into what we consider the premier medical coding company of its time; a recognized pioneer in the now routine practice of remote coding.
Cronin correctly assumed that he was not alone in the desire to spend more time at home, and as a product of this assumption, along with the persistent lack of experienced coders locally available to hospitals, the practice of coding out of one’s home was made practicable and eventually commonplace. After a positive resolution to a debacle caused by the ill-fated sale of the company, Bill Cronin reunited the MedGrup management team, auditing staff, and many of the same coders, and formed HCCS with the intention of creating a moral, upstanding coding company that would surpass its predecessor.
