The Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Maryland is seeking a full-time board certified or board eligible Vascular Interventional Radiologist with VIR fellowship training, VIR CAQ or eligible. The ideal candidate will have an interest in a full time 100% VIR academic career, with a resume that reflects potential as a clinician scientist and educator.
The successful candidate will join a division with long pedigree of excellence in clinical VIR practice, with a large ACGME accredited VIR residency (currently 22 integrated and independent IR residents) and world-renowned research facilities. This position will be primarily sited at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore MD, although the division has regional presence having expanded to 3 regional hospitals (2 hospitals in Washington DC suburbs).
Currently, the division is comprised of 13 full time interventional radiologists, 8 physician assistants, 1 nurse practitioner and 1 research coordinator. At The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the VIR division has state of the art equipment including 5 single plane angio rooms, a state-of-the-art hybrid angioCT unit, two dedicated VIR CT scanners, and one iMRI suite. The department is committed to excellence in imaged-based clinical care, with admission privileges, a dedicated consult service, a bedside procedure service, and daily clinic.
Requirements
Candidates must be dedicated to teaching future interventional radiologists and desire an academic career. There are excellent research facilities including animal Interventional suites and housing, opportunities to collaborate with multiple disciplines in basic and translational research, in a division with a strong research history and collaborators across the various medical disciplines including Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Eligibility for a full Maryland and D.C. medical license and its acquisition before starting employment is required.
