Are you a collaborative leader who thrives in dynamic environments and believes in the power of community-driven change?

KABOOM! is seeking a Community Playspace Build Manager to lead transformative playspace projects that center equity, amplify community voices, and deliver joyful, high-impact volunteer-build experiences across the country.

As a key member of our team, you’ll manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and serve as a visible ambassador for KABOOM!, ensuring that every playspace reflects the unique aspirations of the community it serves. You’ll lead inclusive design sessions, steward budgets, and orchestrate build events that are more than installations, they’re celebrations of collaboration and belonging.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD.

Salary: $65,000 plus benefits and annual bonus.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in project or event management (construction or recreation a plus)
• Skill in engaging diverse stakeholders and facilitating participatory planning
• Strong organizational skills and creative problem-solving
• Comfort with public speaking and leading large volunteer groups
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60% of the year)
• Spanish proficiency
