Job Title: Golf Course Superintendent / Greens ManagerLocation: Washington, D.C. Region
Schedule: Full-Time, 7 Days a Week (as required by course needs)

We are a premier private golf club in the Washington, D.C. region. Our club is dedicated to delivering an exceptional playing experience to members and guests, with pristine course conditions, innovative environmental practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement. With significant growth potential, we are seeking a highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent / Greens Manager to lead our turf management operations.
Position Overview:
The Golf Course Superintendent / Greens Manager will oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, agronomy, and grounds management. This hands-on leader will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality playing conditions while managing staff, budgets, equipment, and resources efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily golf course maintenance, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and landscaping.
Develop and implement agronomic programs that ensure optimal turf health and aesthetics.
Manage irrigation systems, water conservation practices, and pest management.
Recruit, train, and supervise grounds crew staff, ensuring a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence.
Maintain equipment and work closely with mechanics to ensure efficient operations.
Monitor and manage course conditions in response to weather, seasonal challenges, and member expectations.
Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
Collaborate with club leadership to enhance the course's reputation as a top private facility in the region.
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of agronomy, irrigation systems, and turf care best practices.
Experience managing cool-season turf in the Mid-Atlantic climate strongly preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Current pesticide applicator's license (or ability to obtain).
