Description
OverviewWoodmont Country Club is a premier 45-hole private facility near Washington, DC, hosting 48,000 rounds annually across its 1,400 members. A trusted USGA partner, the Club has hosted events like the 2020 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 2025 U.S. Adaptive Open, and serves as a regular site for U.S. Open Final Qualifying. Facilities include a double-sided Trackman Range, six heated indoor bays, and a 3-acre short game area. The North Course plays up to 7,485 yards, while The Loop, a 9- hole par 3 course, offers a fun challenge for all skill levels. The South Course will host the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open. We're seeking motivated Golf Professionals eager to learn every aspect of a dynamic, high-end golf operation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to members and their guests.
- Assist in all aspects of the tournament program.
- Execute and oversee multiple tournaments, including Monday outings and member events.
- Follow and uphold daily Golf Shop procedures.
- Train and assist seasonal staff on procedures.
- Manage and monitor play from the tee, including pace-of-play enforcement.
- Create and maintain staff schedules.
- Includes Golf Professional staff and PGA Interns.
- Oversee the ClubEssential tee time reservation system.
- Manage group and tournament play blocks.
- Ensure proper member account charges from daily tee sheets.
- Provide individual and group golf instruction.
- Play golf with members of all skill levels.
- Support the Director of Retail in golf shop operations.
- Place, receive, and verify special orders.
- Maintain accurate monthly and annual inventory.
- Supervise golf staff to ensure performance standards are met, reporting any issues to the Head Professional and Director of Golf.
- Administer and oversee the GHIN handicap system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
